The Mattara Fishing Club exists to promote social and family activities centred around the sport of sustainable
recreational fishing.
-
We do this by conducting monthly open club competitions, arranging weekend fishing and camping trips, competing
in district, state and national competitions and making sure that MFC representatives are involved in all relevent political
and administrative issues which may effect our sport.
-
The Mattara Fishing Club is one of the most successful and well established Fishing Clubs in
NSW.
- The major sponsor of the club is Central Charlestown
Leagues Club and the MFC is financed by the raffles that are held at Central every Thursday
evening from 6pm (all club members are encouraged to attend to help out).
- Our weekend trips throughout the year include visits
to various locations such as Lake StClair for fresh water fishing, Birubi Beach, Tiona, Middle Rock,
Jimmy's Beach, Seal Rocks and other venues where all your food & camp fees are provided for at a small
nightly cost.
- Our members compete successfully in Fresh Water, Beach,
Rock, Estuary, Deep Sea & Game fishing competitions and are happy to share thier knowledge of sportfishing with new
members.
- The club conducts meetings on the 1st Thursday of
each month in the boardroom at Central Charlestown Leagues Club after the raffles (around 8pm)
